Day 173
It’s Day 173 of President Trump’s second term. No one has lost their Social Security, Medicare, or veterans’ benefits in spite of constant media and leftist lies.
Divine Intervention
This Sunday marks the first anniversary of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life at an outside rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles stated in a recent interview that she believes Donald Trump’s life was saved by God in Butler, Pennsylvania. And she confirmed he believes that, too.
I was with a small group of people meeting with the president when he said exactly that, and I know this realization has impacted him. It’s why his voice quivered when he said recently, “We love you, God.”
I also have no doubt that God saved George Washington’s life in the French and Indian War. I have no doubt that God saved Ronald Reagan’s life and the lives of Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul II so together they could bring down Soviet communism.
And I have no doubt that Donald Trump was spared by God to give us what may be our last chance to rescue America, the first nation to declare in its founding documents that our liberty comes from God, not government.
Not Satisfied
The Secret Service just suspended six agents for their part in last year’s nearly deadly assassination attempt. Despite what the fake news media would have you believe, the president is a very forgiving man.
He said he’s “satisfied” with the reports he has received about the Secret Service’s failures that day. He even praised them, saying, “I have great confidence in these people. I know the people. And they’re very talented, very capable. But they had a bad day.”
Speaking for myself, I am not satisfied. Yes, Biden’s handpicked Secret Service director was forced to resign in disgrace. But beyond that, six agents on the ground are getting a slap on the wrist -- suspensions without pay ranging from 10 to 42 days.
Another person who isn’t satisfied is Helen Comperatore, widow of Fire Chief Corey Comperatore, who was killed shielding his family. In a recent interview, Mrs. Comperatore ripped into the Secret Service, saying:
“We were all sitting ducks that day. Our blood is all over their hands. I am angry. I lost the love of my life. . . Why weren’t they paying attention? Why did they think the roof didn’t need covered? . . . Why was that such a failure? I want to sit down and talk to them. . . . They need to listen to me.”
By the way, she also said President Trump sent her a letter last month “just checking in,” adding, “It was just a beautiful letter saying our families will always be connected and that if I ever need anything to please reach out.”
Helen Comperatore has every right to be angry.
Secret Service agents are there for one purpose – they are to put their bodies, their reputations, and everything they hold dear at risk to save the person they are assigned to protect.
They were short-staffed that day by the Biden administration, which diverted resources to protect the First Lady. But that is no excuse.
State and local law enforcement officials have testified that they identified a suspicious man at the rally 90 minutes before the shooting and asked the Secret Service for guidance. The Secret Service had eyes on the shooter 20 minutes before he fired the first shot.
There were layers of incompetence so severe that it leads me to suspect something more sinister was involved.
So, this is a good time to thank God for giving us a chance to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary next year with a reasonable hope that this experiment in ordered liberty under God will have many more years ahead.
More Resistance
Federal immigration police carried out an enforcement operation at two California farms yesterday. Leftist mobs showed up just as the immigration police were wrapping up their operation and attacked law enforcement agents. Someone in the crowd pulled out a gun and fired at them.
Gov. Gavin Newsom and other major politicians immediately condemned our immigration police. A Democrat congressman rushed to one of the farms for his moment of virtue signaling, hoping to get arrested or maybe even to get shot.
Here are the facts.
The farms were not a mom-and-pop operation. There were hundreds of people working at two locations owned by Glass House Farms. They’re not growing carrots or tomatoes. Their crop is marijuana.
The federal immigration police were executing a warrant issued by a federal judge. This was not a “raid” looking for one or two random illegal aliens. Virtually the entire workforce at both farms was illegal.
They also found 10 minors, eight of whom were unaccompanied by any related adult. Glass House Farms is now under investigation for federal child labor violations.
During the Biden/Harris/Mayorkas era, a massive number of children walked across the southern border with no parents or family members. Sometimes the children had phone numbers pinned on their clothing for the Biden administration to call.
But just like they failed to vet the illegal aliens crossing into our country, they didn’t vet the adults they were turning these children over to. Because of their gross malfeasance, the Biden administration “lost” hundreds of thousands of migrant children and caused untold suffering.
In many cases, these children were handed over to people engaged in sex trafficking, or, in the case of these farms, they were forced into hard labor that is illegal for children in the United States.
This is what President Trump and our federal immigration police are trying to correct. The leftists fighting them are not compassionate or decent. They are siding with human traffickers and people who are exploiting child labor.
Left-wing Lunacy
A Biden-appointed judge is currently hearing a case brought by the ACLU and other far-left groups arguing that immigration enforcement operations are a violation of the Constitution. The judge made it clear she is likely to rule that the ACLU is right and that she will impose restrictions that will make immigration enforcement operations virtually impossible.
Clearly, the Left’s goal is to prevent the Trump administration from removing any of the 15 to 20 million illegal aliens currently in the country.
The ACLU claims the enforcement operations are a violation of due process and basic constitutional liberties. The judge implied that the immigration enforcement operations are discriminatory because immigration police are going to places where there are large numbers of Spanish-speaking minorities.
Here’s a short primer on legal standards.
If a police officer stops someone for a traffic violation, he cannot search the entire car unless he has “probable cause” to believe a crime has been committed. If the officer searches the car because he doesn’t like how the driver looks, that’s not probable cause.
But probable cause is not the standard under immigration law -- “reasonable suspicion” is. And it is a much easier standard to meet.
So, we’re trying to get 15 to 20 million people out of the country. The vast majority of them came from Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries. We also know there are certain businesses and industries that have a persistent pattern of ignoring employment laws.
Reasonable suspicion will lead you to workplaces where there are large numbers of Spanish-speaking workers. But to leftist judges and politicians, that makes you a “fascist.”
A new poll finds that 61% of Americans support deporting illegal aliens back to their country of origin. That view is held by 94% of Republicans and 59% of Independents. In contrast, 68% of Democrats oppose deporting illegal aliens back to their home country.
Again, our differences are irreconcilable.
Serious Leadership
Here are two more examples proving we are now governed by serious and competent people.
For at least the past two years, we’ve been hearing non-stop warnings that drones are transforming warfare. We are behind our adversaries in drone technology and production. Of course, the Biden administration did nothing, largely because of bureaucratic infighting at the Pentagon.
President Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth have had enough. They are removing all the red tape that is getting in the way to get it done ASAP.
“The Department’s bureaucratic gloves are coming off,” Hegseth wrote. “Lethality will not be hindered by self-imposed restrictions. . . Our major risk is risk-avoidance.”
In fairness to the Biden Pentagon, there are only 24 hours in a day. Once they had reached their quota of gay troops, ensured that each military unit met its CRT and DEI quotas, and satisfied the demands of their transgender troops, there was very little time left to actually defend our country!
Speaking of defending the country, previous administrations of both parties made really stupid decisions that left the defense of our country dependent upon our enemies. President Trump is changing that.
Determined to break communist China’s stranglehold on rare earth minerals, which are essential to manufacturing many modern-technology products and weapon systems, a major ribbon-cutting ceremony is taking place today in Wyoming. For the first time in 70 years, America is opening a new rare earth mine.
No nation ever became great by depending on its enemies for its own defense. Thank God President Trump understands that.
